Despite what some people might think, you are never too old for Disney. Out of all the theme parks I have been to, I would say Magic Kingdom is one of the best. The thought that goes into every detail of the park creates an atmosphere that is quite magical. Along with the parks having great detail, other aspects of Disney such as where you stay and the Springs are thought out making the whole complex an experience.

If you are going to Disney soon here are some of my favorites:

My Favorite Rides

Space Mountain

When I went to Magic Kingdom for the first time, I went with my dad and brother. Having no idea where to start, my dad decided that we start with Space Mountain. It was one of his favorite rides from when he was little and going to Magic Kingdom. At first I was nervous to try the ride since I am not big on rollercoasters, but after my first ride I was ready to go again.

Space Mountain is a great ride for those who are not a big fan of rollercoasters, but still enjoy the thrill of rides. It is an inside track set in complete darkness to mimic space, giving you limited visibility. Which adds an element of surprise when it comes to the track since you can not tell when a quick turn or drop will happen. I will say it is probably the closest ride to an actual rollercoaster at Disney with a mild drop.

The great thing that I like about Disney, it that most of their rides are what I like to call “rollercoaster friendly”. Meaning these rides are friendly towards those who are not a fan of big rollercoasters . Which I am not a rollercoaster fan and Space Mountain is about as crazy as I get.

For those who find Space Mountain to be a bit too much, I would suggest Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. I say this because the track is outdoors which allow for you to see what is coming ahead of you. Which for me this is a big thing with rides, I like to see what is coming. On the track, I find the speed to be at a great pace, not too jerky, and the drops to be minimal. So if you are looking for a ride to easy you in, I would start here.

My Favorite Interactive Rides

Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin

Now my best plan when going to Magic Kingdom, is to switch between ride and interactive rides since it allows for me to recover. One of the coolest interactive rides in my opinion is Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin. This ride is more than sitting in a car that brings you around a track. For this ride you are really able to interact and play a competitive shooting game with you car partner. Having this extra interactive component to the ride makes it one of my favorites.

The Haunted Mansion is an all time favorite and was a ride I loved going on from the first time I visited Magic Kingdom. Which I will say is odd that it is one of my favorites since I do not like anything scary or haunted. Although haunted is in the name, the ride itself is not scary at all. When going to Magic Kingdom with my mom, it was her first time, it was one of the rides I told her we had to go on.

Honestly, after riding it so many times, I forget that it is meant to be “scary” and appreciate the detail that went into the ride. Definitely a super cool ride that is also friendly towards those who are not a fan of scary things.

Foods To Eat At Magic Kingdom

Chocolate Covered Mickey Ear

For me the big question is, did I really go to the Magic Kingdom if I did not get my chocolate covered Mickey ear? And the answer is no. I can not tell you why or for what reason I love this dessert, but it is a must when I go. It is simple, refreshing, and absolutely tasty. Not to mention I love chocolate so I have a hard time finding a chocolate dessert that I do not like.

When it comes to food at Magic Kingdom, I am not well versed and do not know where the best places are to eat. But my mom and I were recommend to try Dole whip. Once we got to the hut, there were so many option and we ended up getting the float. Which I will say, at first I was hesitant since I am not big on pineapple, but ended up loving it. The float is big so I definitely recommend splitting since my mom and I would have not been able to finish it on our own.

World of Disney

Where To Shop For All Things Disney

World of Disney At Disney Springs

If you have time, I recommend going to the Springs one night. It is such a cool area that has a variety of places such as shops, entertainment, and food. So if you are looking for a break from the parks, I would say this is a great place and has something for everyone in the family. Another cool thing is that the places in the Springs has more to it then just Disney places such as Sephora, Athleta, Kendra Scott, and other shops.

But if you are looking for Disney items, I would recommend going to the World of Disney. If you are someone who wants to focus on rides while at the parks then I would say this is the place for you. World of Disney has so much from ears, hats, sweatshirts, t-shirts, and so much more from different movies and characters. And you do not have to worry about carrying your Disney finds throughout the park.

Places To Eat Top-Tier Desserts

Amerette’s

I am a dessert lover through and though and a big believe in dessert before dinner. So if you go to the Springs, I would highly recommend going to Amerette’s. The desserts and pastries there are absolutely amazing both in presentation and taste. Finding which desserts to eat was hard, but my mom and I decided on Mickey Mouse which was a mousse dessert and the strawberry creme crepe. Friends of ours who also went with us got the key lime dessert and loved it as well.

Amerette’s is not the only dessert place at the Springs and was not the only dessert stop we made. It was only fair to end our Springs trip with dessert as we start it with dessert. At the end of the night before leaving we stopped by Ghirardelli. And let me say it was good! This was another place where it was hard to decide what to get, but in the end my mom and I spilt the special sundae they had for the 100th anniversary celebration of the Walt Disney Company.

Here are my favorites which I hope to be helpful when figuring out what you want to do on your trip to Disney. Also if you have any suggestions on what you like at the parks, let me know!
