My Favorite Memories Of 2023

It is absolutely crazy to me that 2023 is over and we are now in 2024. The year went by so fast, but I guess that is what happens when you are having fun, right? Last year was one for travel, creating memories of a lifetime, and exploring new places. Looking back at where I thought I would go and where I did slightly differed, but I would not change a thing. I got to travel to a new state, hike in the mountains of Arizona, and crossed New York City off my bucket list, and that is only naming a few.

Here is a recap of some of my favorite memories from 2023:

Shania Twain Concert

I absolutely love concerts! There is nothing more invigorating than getting to listen to music live. It is hard to describe but there is something different about hearing music live especially if it is songs you grew up listening too. Growing up, my mom would always play Shania Twain in the car and we jam out to Party of Two. So it was only fitting that we eventually went to her concert when she came to Dallas.

It was the end of July and the weather was unbelievably hot and humid, but that did not stop the fun! Shania is amazing in concert and it was non stop singing at the top of my lungs. If you have ever thought about going to a concert, just go and do not second guess it. Especially Shania!

Memories | NYC

NYC During The Holidays

Going to the city has always been on my bucket list, but going during the holidays was a bonus list item. You hear New York during the holidays is a special place and I can confirm that this trip was an unreal experience! I absolutely loved the city and lived for the festive spirit the city has during this time. If you are considering a trip to the city, I would definitely recommend going during this time.

Some of my highlights from the trip included ice skating at Rockefeller Center, attending a Rockettes performance at Radio City Music Hall, and the window displays at Saks Fifth Avenue. Another cool place is Rolf’s German Restaurant which is a cute decorated restaurant with a bar area that serves holiday themed drinks. If you are looking for a cute place to grab drinks, I would recommend checking out Rolf’s.

Hiking Devil’s Bridge

Growing up I would visit Arizona to see my grandfather, but did little exploring of the state. It was not until I was older that I learned Arizona has the desert and mountains giving you a little of both environments. In October, I was able to experience the mountains and went to Sedona for a mini trip.

If you are looking for beautiful views of red rocks and canyons, Sedona is the place for you. Not to mention there are so many different hikes at different levels that there is something for everyone. My cousin and I hiked Devil’s Bridge and the view at the end of the hike was breathtaking. Which is hard to beat considering the whole hike is amazing. There are views everywhere, but it is definitely great looking out from standing on the bridge. P.S. the bridge is not as scary as it looks like to stand on and makes for a great photo!

Being A Bridesmaid In My Cousins Wedding

By far one of the greatest memories to date is getting to stand next to my cousin as she said “I do” to the love of her life. It was so special getting to make those memories with her and celebrate a special time in her life. Weddings are amazing in that it is a time when people are able to gather together to celebrate people they care about, showing love and support.

Nothing beats getting to be with her at her bridal shower, getting to see those close to her shower her with love and getting to meet her friends and soon-to-be family. Going to the beach, being on a boat and having my toes in the sand for her last hurrah, and taking in beautiful Michigan weather to top it off. It was an unforgettable time and great memories were made.

Memories | Dallas Stars

Dallas Stars New Year’s Eve Game

One of my greatest memories growing up was going to the Dallas Stars’ game on New Year’s Eve. My family would go with two other families and we would take the DART into Dallas for the game. Afterwards we would go back to one of the families’ houses and watch the ball drop. It was a great memory and something I enjoyed getting to do.

As my brothers and I got older we stopped going to games as we would split off for New Year’s plans. Although I did not go to the game with my family this year, I was happy to go again and make this something I was able to do with my friends. The game was absolutely electric as the Stars crushed the Blackhawks, it was goals after goals. If you are looking for something fun to do on New Year’s Eve, I would recommend a hockey game!

It was quite the year, and I am grateful for all that I was able to do! I was able to make memories in my own city as well as new ones. Closing the book on 2023, I look back and will take the momentum with me into 2024 as it is only the start. Here’s to the end of one crazy year and the start of another!
