Vision Board 2023: Travel Edition

Oh man was 2022 quite the year filled with its highs and lows, but a year of great accomplishments! In 2022, I graduated from college which closed one chapter and opened another in my life. After college, I went to the Bahamas as a graduation gift to myself. While there I got to cross swimming with the pigs off my bucket list. Graduating and this trip got me to thinking…What is next? Well as of now, I am not sure, which is why I created this vision board.
With that…here is my vision board for what I want to accomplish this year:
Number 1: Go To Austin – Attend a Formula 1 Race
Growing up in Dallas all I knew about was NASCAR and had no idea about Formula 1’s track in Austin. Which all changed after being introduced to the TV series Drive to Survive. This series got me invested in the sport, where I have spent countless hours watching races on TV. After seeing all these races on TV, I now want to experience the exhilarating atmosphere myself. Lucky for me each COTA happens in Austin which is about 3 hours from where I live. Not only would going to Austin for the race be a fun trip, but the city itself has a lot to offer from outdoor activities to food!
Number 2: Visit NYC – Attend a Broadway Show & See the Statue of Liberty
Going to NYC has been on my bucket list for years now. There is so much to do in the city. For example, I am a lover of the performing arts, especially musicals. Going to see a show on Broadway is a must while there. Along with seeing a show, I also want to visit the Statue of Liberty which holds great history and meaning. Although I learned about Lady Liberty in school, getting to see her in person for me is a completely different experience. Other places in NYC that I would like to visit are: Central Park, the Met, Times Square, and the Empire State Building to name a few. NYC would be quite the trip!
Number 3: Explore Egypt – See the Pyramids & Sphinx
Going to the Bahamas last year was a catalyst trip for me. Coming back from this trip, I challenged myself to cross at least two items off my bucket list each year. It was a challenge with a twist where one of the items had to be in a different country. Now picking which one to go on was hard since there are so many items on my bucket list, but Egypt stood out to me for a couple of reason. One, going to Egypt was on my grandmother’s list of countries to visit and she was not able to go before passing away. She is my inspiration for traveling and experiencing the world, I want to go for her. Lastly, a friend of mine went last year and all her pictures had me sold!
Bonus: Roadtrip in Arizona – Hike the Grand Canyon & Horseshoe Bend
Another place I would like to travel to is the Grand Canyon and Horseshoe Bend. I absolutely love nature and find the creation of the canyon fascinating. Going to the canyon would be a once in a lifetime kind of trip, being able to do cool things such as hike down into the canyon and go canoeing. It crazy to me that all my life my grandparents lived in Arizona, yet going to the canyon never happened. If not this year, hopefully I will get the chance while I am in my 20s!
With each of these trip, I hope that I can explore my own state, the US, and another country. Also I hope creating a vision board will help me stick to accomplishing my travel goals. Let’s see where I end up come December!
