If there is one thing I could change about traveling it would be packing. I dislike packing in the strongest way possible, mostly because I am still learning how to pack and not forget anything. Although I am still learning how to master the art of packing, I have been able to come up with my top 5 travel items I need and are coming with me on all my trips this year. If you are like me and still trying to figure out what your top travel items are stick around to see if any of my items help. Or if you are already a packing expert maybe I can help you discover something new to add to your list.

Here are my top 5 travel items I will be carrying with me this year:

Number 1: Headphones & Bluetooth Connector

Headphones are a must, but noise cancelling ones are absolutely a game changer especially on long flights. Trust me on it! You never know who is going to be on your flight or the mood of the other passengers. This means that your flight could be quite or noisier than you would like which makes it hard to read, get work done, sleep or enjoy your music. With that, the only solution is…noise cancelling headphones. My beats allow for me to tune out the world and focus on me, it is the best solution to a problem that is uncontrollable.

Along with headphones, I am also bring a bluetooth connector. Now a days it is all about wireless headphones which are not compatible with the TVs built into airplane seats. For those you need wire headphones, but with the connector it plugs into the TV and connect via bluetooth to your headphones. This allows you to stay wireless, cancel out excess noise, and watch movies on the plane!

Number 2: AirTags

This one mainly has to deal with your checked bags. Not only will investing in noise cancelling headphones do you wonders, but so will an AirTag to track your bags. Although I have never had my bags lost in transit, having an AirTag brings me peace of mind knowing that my bag arrived in the same city as me. Also, if my bag was to get lost, the AirTag would help me locate it and speed up the recovery time. Having an AirTag is just a precaution and me wanting to be over prepared.

Number 3: LED Travel Mirror

Let me start by saying this, having a small mirror is an absolute yes, but having one that folds and lights up…well that is a whole different story. Prior to having the viral folding LED travel mirror, I was carrying around a small round mirror that stands on my counter. Which I will say I absolutely love it, but it is not very travel friendly. Since having the LED travel mirror, I no longer worry about being able to get ready without a mirror or having good lighting. It is my go to item and so easy to pack, I barely know that it is there. Trust me when I say that the days of not having mirror space or good lighting while traveling are over with this mirror.

Number 4: Packing Cubes

Now if only I had discover packing cubes while I was study abroad during college. These would have been such a lifesaver when it came to packing and fitting so much in one suitcase. Not only does packing cubes help maximize space, but with the cubes I am able to group my clothes based on categories and easily pull them out of my bag. Another added bonus is that it allows for some privacy and your clothes are not out in the open if your bag is ever opened at security.

Number 5: Water Bottle

Traveling can be so dehydrating so having a water bottle comes in handy. Filling up my water bottle is the second thing, beside checking to see if my gate exists, I do after going through security. When traveling I like to avoid water bottles that have straws since the pressure on the plane causes them to spray water everywhere when opened, speaking from experience. I also like bring a water that is insulated so after a long day of travel my water can stay cool.

Lastly, depending on the trip, I sometimes will bring a water bottle with a filter so that I can have water on the go and not worry about drinking from the tap in places I am unfamiliar with. This has been a practice of mine from studying abroad to avoid the cost of water bottles or not having access to water.
